A Jet Airways flight, traveling from Kuwait to Mumbai and carrying 160 people, made an emergency landing at Muscat airport on Friday after a bomb scare on board that turned out to be a hoax. Omani authorities received a tip off that a bomb might be aboard the Boeing 737-800 aircraft, following which they alerted the crew. The crew then decided to divert to Muscat where the airplane landed safely at 1 am local time, about two-and-a-half hours after departure from Kuwait.

Jet Airways has complained to India's aviation regulator about the use of its livery on SpiceJet aircraft, saying the practice could "mislead the public" and is a safety hazard. Jet collapsed in 2019 and lessors repossessed its Boeing 737s. Some of these aircraft were leased to SpiceJet, which operates them without changing the livery. Jet, which is now being revived by the Kalrock Jalan consortium and aims to restart operations in September, has asked the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) to ask SpiceJet to stop using its livery.

A JetLite aircraft with 139 people on board suffered damage to its tail while taking off from Mumbai on Wednesday but managed to land safely at the National Subhash Chandra Bose Airport in Kolkata.No one was injured in the incident described by the airline as a 'tail scrape'. In a statement, JetLite claimed that "at no time was the safety of the passengers and crew compromised" in the incident. The tail of the Kolkata-bound Boeing 737 was damaged while taking off from Mumbai.

The airline will launch services from Sharjah aboard state-of-the-art Boeing 737-800 aircraft. As a result, from September 1, 2009 to October 24, 2009 and from March 28, 2010 to October 30, 2010, flight 9W 562 will depart from Kochi at 1045 hrs, arriving in Sharjah at 1305 hrs. Flight 9W 561 will then depart Sharjah at 1415 hrs, arriving in Kochi at 1945 hrs. But the departure and arrival timings of the flights are however, subject to the governments approval.
